Coronavirus (COVID-19)
The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are very well prepared for any outbreak of new and infectious diseases. The NHS has placed measures in order to ensure the safety of all patients and staff whilst also ensuring services are still available to the public as normal.
NHS 111 now has an online coronavirus service that can assess you and advise you on what to do.
You should be using this service if you are suffering from symptoms associated with Coronavirus
- Have you been in contact with anyone with the Corona Virus?
- Have you been asked to self Isolate?
If the answer to any of these questions are yes please visit the NHS 111 online service for advice.
DO NOT go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people. Call 111 if you need to speak to someone.

What is coronavirus?
A coronavirus is a type of virus. As a group, coronaviruses are common across the world. Typical symptoms of coronavirus include fever and a cough that may progress to a severe pneumonia causing shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.
Generally, coronavirus can cause more severe symptoms in people with weakened immune systems, older people, and those with long-term conditions like diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.
Wuhan novel coronavirus is a new strain of coronavirus first identified in Wuhan City, China.
